Gothic Cemetery, Cornwall by SJR Photography

Birds of a Feather - Recycled Steel Drum Metal Art by Haitian Metal

This bird and tree design wall hanging is hand cut from upcycled - recycled 50 gallon steel drums. Both ends of the drum are removed and placed inside of the remaining cylinder along with scrap paper, dried banana or sugar cane leaves. It is set on fire, to burn off any paint or residue. When cooled, the drum is cut down the side and flattened out to create a 'metal canvas' of approximately 3' x 6', upon which the design is drawn. Using hammer, chisel and various primitive tools, the shape is cut and the various decorative patterns are pounded into the metal, creating a unique and treasured piece of primitive art. The finished design is coated with a protective finish. Can be hung indoors or outdoors. Measures 24" across.

A Color Study in Teal – Hoop Fiber Wall Art by Sometimes I Swirl

This original, one-of-a-kind embroidery hoop art is comprised of hundreds of french knots. The thread in the center starts as a very dark turquoise, and gradually progressed to a rich teal to aqua, and all the way down to a pale greenish blue on the outside. This abstract piece was created as a fun experiment to see how smoothly the colour could be progressed. The hoop measures 4" (10.16 cm) and the back is left uncovered. I finally decided upon showing one of his flamingo paintings, I really like the simplicity of this one. Fantastic!
