Loveseat by Jake Phipps

It was the genteel Victorians who originally popularised the loveseat. Courting couples could whisper sweet nothings whilst remaining seated in a state of  chaste restraint. Although we might laugh at such primness and exaggerated propriety, the loveseat remains a powerful symbol of love and romance. The seat’s form suggests the duality of a loving and successful partnership: fundamentally opposed, yet with complimentary principles of balance and unity. Facing in opposite directions, a couple can share a conversation, with their different perspectives providing a more complete outlook on the world around them. Materials: Cedar / English Oak. Dimensions: 50cm x 50cm x 125cm. Designed by Jake Phipps and manufactured by Riva1920. Wow!

French Country Style Open Storage Unit by 3R Design

Open storage unit divided into 16 separate slots for storing whatever you like! This one is 820 x820 x 160 mm. but units can be custom made to your specification. Made in a French country style from reclaimed pine that was once part of the ceiling in the old Victoria Station in Manchester, UK. They can be made to any size and with any number of "holes" ( within reason, of course!). They don't have a back so that the painted wall behind shows through with good effect.

Reclaimed Timber Chest of Drawers by Relic Interiors

UK handmade site, Folksy, has revealed it's brand new look today – and it looks mighty fine indeed! I've picked today's item straight from their fantastic new homepage. This beautiful and unique chest of drawers started life as a pumpkin crate from W H Timms & Sons. Left out as rubbish on the street Relic Interiors immediately saw its potential. It's beautifully weathered and bursting with personality. The generously proportioned drawers are made using scrap timber and the knobs and pulls from flea markets. The result: the most interesting and handsome chest of drawers around!

Inertia Rocking Chair and Ottoman by Artful Inventions

Intertia Rocker gets its name from its sheer mass. Although it is hollow, the chair is quite heavy which makes for a very smooth and steady rocking. The chair's form is derived from only three templated shapes. Each layer is glued together, then hand-carved to achieve its curved form. The back reclines to four different settings via a finger joint with the seat. The Ottoman also rocks along with the chair. Design: Aren Irwin, 2004. Materials: Apple Plywood with clear lacquer finish. Dimensions: Width: 34"; Depth: 36"; Seat Height: 15."

Made using locally sourced English Oak, this dynamic and beautiful steam bent wood basket is hand crafted and finished like a fine piece of furniture. The simple organic form offers a practical place to carry and store logs.
